Nowadays a lot of people are arguing because some of them believe that advertising has too much impact on kids’ lives and that is why it should be banned to children. In my opinion this is because some children have no limits and this leads to a negative influence on their and their families lives.
In recent years children tend to spend more time watching advertisements compared to the past because we live in era of mobile devices. Additionally for many parents the easiest way to calm their child down is to let them watch cartoons, movies and so on. And this is why parents choosing to allow their children to use gadgets have to understand that it is their responsibility to make sure that their son or daughter doesn’t take advantage and has no addiction to the virtual world. For instance, it’s hard not to pay attention at the fact that these days different kinds of social media are used by children starting with three years old. This is an example of parents being irresponsible by letting their children use applications that are not suitable for their age, which may cause negative consequences and at some point change young people’s behavior.
However, fully prohibiting advertising to children is not quite the right decision. In my opinion there has to be a time limit, this would kill two birds with one stone – not letting children overuse electronic devices and see something inappropriate for them, but at the same time not completely limiting something they might find entertaining.
In conclusion, occasionally children might spend too much time on social media seeing advertisements, but it should not be fully banned, rather parents need to set time limits.
