Recent years have witnessed the surge of juvenile delinquency in various countries. This essay attempts to outline the underlying reasons behind this phenomenon before proposing some viable solutions to alleviate it.
The escalating influx of young crimes can be attributed to two primary factors. One primary culprit is the constant exposure to violence, resulting in aggressive and criminal tendencies in adolescents’s mindset and behavior. This issue is further exacerbated by the prevalence of the Internet, youngsters have a tendency to scroll through a volume of negative videos, encompassing many violent and dramatic elements. Worse still, with the busy lifestyle nowadays, the dwindling interaction between parents and their child hinders these children from living and studying in a normal way. This potentially leads to several serious mental health problems in children as well as adversely affecting their learning process.
To effectively address the pressing of underage offenders, concerted effort necessitated both at individual and government levels. On an individual level, it is crucial for parents to limit or even prevent children’s exposure to violence. Additionally, the correct orientation and education from family play an integral role, as it shapes the well-being of individuals to create more developed countries. At the government level, there is an urgent need for the implementation of stringent regulations on juvenile delinquency. For instance, these teenage offenders could be treated equally as other adult crimes, regardless of their ages, genders or positions in society. ‘
In conclusion, the increase in juvenile law-breaking is largely driven by the excessive exposure to violent factors and insufficient guidance of the child’s parents. However, this issue is positively soluble through a combination of responsible individual awareness as well as some robust government regulations.
