These days, wearing make-up has been becoming a popular trend among many high school girls. Some believe that this is a positive trend, while others think that it has some drawbacks. In this essay, I will discuss both these views and give my own perspectives.
On the one hand, one of the reasons some individuals think that this trend gives benefits is helping school girls become more confident and beautiful. They do make-up to hide their downsize in their face, which allows them to show off themselves to public with confidence and power. Secondly, high school girls are in the adolescent period, they want to show their own beauty and personal characteristic. Therefore, wearing make-up enables them to show their own beauty.
One the other hands, some opponents think that it is a negative trend. Firstly, doing make-up frequently can do damage to their skin. Because their skin is growing and if they use many make-up products, they will be harmful for themselves. Secondly, a lot of makeup products lack of safety and quality security for users. They can contain some unknown materials and toxic chemicals such as mercury, Phtalathes,… In addition, wearing make-up regularly can make high school girls feel confident at that moment; however, in the long run, they may forget their true beauty and become inconfident to show their face without makeup. Finally, the society will be affected. Some students cannot afford the expensive products, they can be robbers or thief. Some students can be scammed to participate in social crimes.
From my perspective, I don’t deny that this trend brings about confidence for school girls. However, I personally agree that this growing trend can lead to some downsize for them and also the society.
In conclusion, an increasing number of female high school students have been wearing makeup to school. Some view this as a positive trend, while others argue that it leads to negative consequences. Personally, I believe that this growing trend could have detrimental effects on the students themselves and on society as a whole.
