There is an ongoing debate about whether schools should focus more on teaching skills that students will need in their future jobs, while others say that traditional academic subjects are more crucial. I strongly believe that schools should focus more on traditional academic subjects, mainly because traditional academic subjects are essential for students who want to enter university, as admission requirements often depend on their academic knowledge.
On the one hand, there are many positive sides for teaching practical skills for students, it will be also good if students learn about practical skills such as communication with each other, teamwork, problem solving, helping elderly. It would be nice If our young generation will learn about this, the majority of schools do not teach practical skills, but they should introduce it. As a result students and children can be more clever and they will learn to respect older people. For example, many people do not know how to talk with strangers and solve their problems, it is also bad for them. Additionally, schools should focus more on students upbringing, and if students learn something about practical skills, they will try to be polite.
On the other hand, there are many benefits for students if they spend their time only for their education by studying traditional subjects. The schools are teaching only traditional subjects at this point. There are several reasons for this, at first students can obtain new information about the lessons, secondly these traditional subjects will help them to enter university, if they get 3 or more certificates which are relevant for their future path, they can get a scholarship. These are the most main sides for students. The government also should invest more money in schools, they can improve the quality of their furniture and enhance the teachers, they should provide enough facilities in this way students will learn and probably focus on their future career. For example, nowadays, nearly all students are participating in the online lessons or even they are going to the educational centers and plus they are really trying to learn in their schools. Teachers and parents should provide them their time, facilities and knowledge.
In conclusion, although practical skills can help students prepare for their future careers, I believe that traditional academic subjects are more important, particularly for those who intend to pursue higher education.
