The last few decades have witnessed a remarkable fall in fitness in some countries, due to the increasing popularity of fast food and a lack of physical exercise. From my perspective, to alleviate these issues, the government should restrict the number of junk food outlets and should encourage individualls to lead a healthy lifestyle.
To commence with the first reason, nowadays, people are more addicted to first food, which always contains excessive fats and sugars, resulting in several health complications, such as obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes. To overcome such situations, I think, the local government should limit the number of ready-to-eat food counters based on the population of the area. Moreover, the government can introduce subsidies on plant-based healthy foods like fruit and vegetables, encouraging individuals to choose healthy and affordable foods for their well-being.
Secondly, the hectic work schedule of employees also causes a lack of exercise, especially in developing countries due to the increasing competition and unemployment issues. For instance, in a developing country like India, well-known worldwide for its poor labor laws, employees often find themselves working seven days a week; therefore, unable to spend a significant amount of time for physical workout. The government of these countries should indroduce strict labor laws to provide sufficient time for the workers to do exercise on a regular basic.
In conclusion, the main reasons behind poor fitness and unhealthy lifestyles are the consumption of junk food to excess and avoiding physical workout due to busy schedules. I think, only the government can encourage people to change their eating habits by providing healthy foods in affordable prices, and by implementing favourable labor laws for the workers.
