It argued that in some countries, people cannot access the Internet due to lack of money, and some individuals think that governments had better take responsibility for making sure that everybody can get access to the Internet without paying while others think that they have to pay a fee to access the Internet. This essay will first closely examine both viewpoints before concluding that I agree with the latter
On the one hand, it is justifiable for some to claim that the government has to take responsibility forindividuals’ access to the Internet . This is mainly because the Internet plays a crucial role in human life. The Internet provides many tools to help people communicate with each other, work more effectively, and study with many educational resources. Individuals can use the Internet without worrying about Internet fees, as a result they can concentrate deeply on their work. The government can develop the economy and education in their countries indirectly.
On the other hand, the government isn’t responsible for ensuring that individuals access the Internet. In some developing countries, they have many top priority issues such as poverty, economic, and crime, so the government has a tendency to solve important issues which directly affect the growth of their countries. The government pays much money for Internet fees, and the expense of infrastructure while basic issues are not solved. Therefore, this method not only is not effective but also does not develop their countries. For example, the government in a developing country spends a lot of money to invest in the Internet while the education system is underdeveloped. Individuals cannot understand the Internet, and exploit the Internet deeply, so investing in the Internet is just waste and does not help their country improve.
In conclusion, while there are justifications for individuals are received the support of the government about the Internet, I would contend that they should take responsibility for accessing the Internet on their own.
