Nowadays, parents fail to spend quality time with their children in some parts of the world. This essay will explore why people who work have little time to spend with family and why it will have a negative impact on their children in the future.
While it is understandable that majority of people work and have careers to build, this brings about a detrimental factor in regards to spending time at home with their children. In the past few decades the cost of living has dramatically increased, and in order to compensate, people are required to work longer hours or find a job that has a higher pay. Increased work time is the key to paying off bills and household expenses as well as being able to ensure that they can provide for their children. However, as they spend additional time at work, they not only have reduced time but minimal energy as well. They will be too fatigued to be able to play with their young ones and would want to relax prior to the following day at work.
If parents continue to dedicate increased time at work, their children will grow up, in the long run, feeling neglected and depressed from those who are able to spend an abundance of time with their families. Children need to spend time with their parents in order to have a happy and healthy childhood. Mannerisms and values stem from parents, and if young people grow up in an empty household, this will greatly affect the way they perceive and approach relationships with others as an adult. In short, they will lead difficult lives emotionally, in contrast to what their parents hoped for.
In conclusion, although it is necessary for people to work and provide for their families, parents ought to dedicate time towards their children. If they fail to ensure quality time, children may grow up with a poor attitude and that will cause them to suffer in social settings.
