In this century, there are many problems arising, one of them is housing. Some countries take responsibility for housing problems of its population while other countries leave those issues alone to people. This essay will explore both approaches and provide my opinion.
On the one hand, the governments have enough power, budget, and facilities to provide homes, apartments to their citizens. There are some types of people such as disabled people, elders who really need support. The government can allocate a budget or can give grants to those people in order to supply them with apartments. Moreover, government bodies can give subsidies for jobless people to provide shelter; by doing so, the homelessness rate would decrease in that area. In those cases, government should co-operate with other organizations in order to have enough budget and this situation easier to take action faster.
On the other hand, as housing and accommodation are essential elements of living, individuals should push themselves for finding enough income to afford them. If the person is healthy and has strength to work, they do not have to wait for support from government because the government has already enough to take care of. Furthermore, people who want a house with (highly) advanced technologies, such as automation services, security devices, and other modern tools, should have enough money to purchase those by themselves because the government only can offer the bare minimum.
In my opinion, to address the housing crisis, governments should implement policies aimed at improving access to affordable accommodation. Simultaneously, individuals should work hard to empty their own needs to housing.
In conclusion, only government or individuals cannot solve the problem, co-operation is key here. Governments should evolve access to affordable safe housing, while people work enough to afford it by themselves.
