Nowadays, using private vehicles has become a big problem for the government. The government’s new policies encourage people to use public transportation to reduce traffic, air pollution, and other reasons. I think if the foundations of this topic are ready, it can be useful for the society.

One of the important advantages of using transportation is decreased traffic. These days, our time and money are wasted in traffic, while transportation such as buses and subways are more inexpensive and faster than private vehicles because they do not need to pay money for fuel and monthly car repairs. For example, according to Reuters, being in traffic costs an average of $1,200 a year for each American driver in terms of fuel and time, and this figure is higher in Los Angeles, which has the most rush hour traffic in the world. Moreover using more subways and buses instead of private cars helps the environment. These days, excessive consumption of fossil fuels has caused environmental and air pollution while many people have died a year from polluted air, in fact, global surveys show that air pollution is the fourth cause of premature death in the world after high blood pressure, smoking, and malnutrition, and it causes the premature death of 7 million people every year.

However, there are some disadvantages to using transportation. Not complying with public health is one of the disadvantages of public transportation in recent years, Diseases spread by crowded public transport, such as COVID-19. In addition, the delay in the arrival and the lack of proper infrastructure has created problems. It makes people late for work or school, especially during peak hours of using public transportation such as in the morning and afternoon.

In conclusion, the Governments should provide conditions for the use of public transport and encourage them not to use private vehicles to keep the environment and reduce traffic jams. There are some drawbacks and benefits to using public transportation But in my opinion, its advantages are more than its disadvantages and it has both economic and environmental benefits for society.
