Bicycles are one of the oldest forms of modern transportation and have been around from the 1800’s. But the advancement in technology and the cheap mechanical alternatives made bicycles less popular in some countries. Bicycles are known for their simple technology and mechanics as well as effectiveness in transporting individuals. The one thing that differentiates a bicycle from other modes of modern transportation is its ability to be fully controlled by the person riding it. The force is exerted by the rider and the pace and torque are all controlled by physical exertion used by the rider. This gives a rider more control over the bicycle compared to other engine or electric based transportations options. Moreover, a bicycle needs more physical force from the person riding it which makes it an excellent transportation option that helps with maintaining one’s own health too. Bicycles have been suggested as an excellent alternative for
people with a sedentary lifestyle who also use engine based transportation. A few miles of bicycle ride would help a person to use their stored energy which inturn helps with weight loss and benefits overall health. In countries like Japan and China, bicycles are a very common and widely used mode of transportation. These countries also have the highest life expectancy out
of all the countries around the globe. There have been multiple studies conducted in these countries that concluded a direct connection with the bicycle ride and life expectancy. The more miles you cover on a bicycle , the more years you will add to your life.
