In several countries, there has been a rise in the number of advertisements which try to convince kids to purchase snacks, toys, and other goods. While parents argue that these ads are unfair, I believe that advertising to children is unfair and should be restricted.
On the one hand, nowadays, advertisements are run on every platform or companies. Advertising is a key part of modern business. Furthermore, companies need to tell customers about their products. We are persuaded to follow the latest trend. Without advertisement there would be higher unemployment. Advertisement is a form of art. People enjoy adverts. Moreover, after seeing advertisements people are often convinced they need to shop more. For instance, Lego runs ads on social media, children see them and buy their products.
On the other hand, advertising should be regulated, and ads aimed at children ought to be banned and controlled. Children watch these ads, and they immediately insist that their parents buy the product. Although ads give options, they also persuade people to buy extra things they do not need. Unhealthy foods should not be marketed in a way that attracts kids. Products that can pose risk to health should display warning signs. Moreover, Parents often argue that these marketing strategies are unfair, but companies use glamorous and successful people to sell their brand image. For example, Nike used successful celebrities in their ads campaigns to attract more customers.
To conclude, in my opinion, while ads are attracting kids to buy more extra goods, advertisements inform us about the choices we have.
