In some cultures, youngsters are always told that everything is possible if they work hard. This is a positive development for every child. In addition, this statement has advantages, though it also has a few drawbacks. In this essay, I will discuss both sides.
On the one hand, children who tend to work hard believe they can achieve anything they want. This attitude helps them trust in themselves and build their confidence. For example, when some students fail a subject in a mid-term examination, this attitude rises within them, and they are willing to do anything to perform better in the final exam. Moreover, it also helps children grow their mindset, which might impact their dedication and lead to recognition as essential for long-term success. For example, there was a king named Robert Bruce who failed six times in battle, but his attitude and dedication helped him win the battle the next time.
However, this virtue is not always appropriate for minors because, at this stage, children should not be overconfident. Sometimes, children might face trouble and should focus on their academic studies and personal lives. Furthermore, when minors work hard to achieve their targets, if they are unable to do so, they may lose their confidence. In this case, their motivation might decrease. For example, when they try to fix something like their bicycles or toys, if they can’t repair them, they might lose their temper and destroy them. Finally, hard work always requires good sense and experience; without these, nothing can come to fruition. As a result, children often lack these qualities.
In conclusion, hard work leads children to better outcomes and builds their confidence and bravery, but they need guidance to manage smart hard work. Overconfidence can negatively influence children’s attitudes and thoughts.
