It is generally seen that adults tend to encourage adolescents if they are persistent enough about their goals, they can achieve anything. Although this situation can be a great motivation for children, it can also have some drawbacks on them.
It is generally seen that kids are advised to put in effort as much as they can if they want to reach their goals. Although the situation seems to be a great motivation for children, it also leads to some negative consequences in their life.
To begin with, being supported by adults, youngsters get more ambitious and motivated to study, that results as an advantage. By this way, they never give up trying ,eliminating the idea of failing. They feel strong enough to continue even if they can not succeed in their previous attempts. For example, the grades of my classmates were worsening day by day.Hence, she accepted the failure hopelessly .However, our math teacher knew her capacity, so she motivated her to try harder than before. She told her that if she studies hard, and does not give up, she could do it. Thus, she did what our teacher suggested ,and she managed to get the best grades in our school. This shows that she felt seen and appreciated for her hard work.
On the other hand, making them believe that hard work guarantees success may lead young people to be harsh on themselves that leads to several problems. This occurs since adolescents’ ambition might push them beyond their limits. According to the research conducted by “Tarsus American College” , the top-ranked students tend to fail their exams as they study for longer hours ,without a break, they seek the sleep they need. Furthermore, this mindset of ” if you try hard, there is nothing you can not do” can affect social relationships. Some children dissociate themselves from their friends to work for their goals , and at the end they could be alone and be depressed. This is obviously seen as a drawback in their lives for them ; they are so lonely that they have no one to appreciate their triumph.
To conclude, the advice of adults that anything can be done if youngsters try hard enough, helps foster their self-confidence, and a sense of appreciation for effort. However, this message can also lead to adverse consequences, particularly concerning children’s well-being and social interaction.
