People have different views about whether an aging population would bring more benefits or drawbacks for business, government and for society in general. Although it can be argued that old people can cause several problems, I believe that the advantages they bring would be bigger.
On the one hand, it is argued by some that the older generation can bring several challenges. Firstly, this generation can negatively affect the development of companies. This is because old people usually prefer old ways of doing things and cannot use technology as well as the young. As a result, there will be less innovation and change in organizations. Secondly, this generation can also put a pressure on the government and society in general. When there are more old people, there will be more pensions and health care facilities. As a result, the government will have to suffer from problems on finance.
On the other hand, I would side with those who believe that this generation brings more benefits. To begin with, old people would perform better than the young in the company. This is because they work longer and have good interpersonal skills. Therefore, their skills and experience will help develop the company. Furthermore, when there are more old people, there will be more volunteers for the economy. When people are retired, they will have more free time and use their money more comfortably. Therefore, they would feel happier to give back to the community.
In conclusion, while it is true that an aging population can cause several disadvantages, I would completely agree with those who believe that older people can contribute a lot to business, governments and society in general.
