Nowadays there is a certain problem of people becoming too self-centered and losing connection with the neighborhood they live in. In this essay I will study the problem and propose some possible solutions to it.
Firstly, our fast-pacing life and the number of people moving into the cities and towns can cause certain tensions. People have started forgetting and abandoning the rules and norms of social behavior, they do not pay attention to those who live nearby and behave selfishly towards them. This results in certain conflicts that may arise, for example, cultural ones, leading to misunderstanding and violation of rights. Tensions can cause riots and protests and ruin the life of the community. To tackle this issue, authorities should take under control the growing population; create special conditions for the people coming to the city or town to make their settling process easier. There can be established clubs and societies for people of different cultures. Another good option is holding festivals of national/regional culture to attract representatives of different national layers and help them find common points and create friendly neighborhood.
Secondly, neglecting the place where one lives is a major factor of decline, leading to abandoned houses, graffiti everywhere, and piles of rubbish. To solve these problems, people should take care of the place they live in. Clean-up days organized for all the neighbors will not only keep the area in order,
but also arise the sense of belonging and helps establish nice relationship. Moreover, fining those who do not want to look after the community territory can be a good option to make people understand the necessity of creating proper life conditions.
In conclusion, there are serious consequences of forgetting about the neighborhood and neglecting it, including its decline and cultural controversy. However, there are possible solutions, which could be implemented to mitigate and improve the situation.
