In Indonesia there are several places that still apply system like this for the other members. Where is the family members especially has a big family, they prefer their children to find partners based on their parent wishes than their own children.
Young people tend to prefer self-choice over arranged marriages, for hence they feel they have freedom to make decisions, explore themselves, and get a greater sense of satisfaction when they succeed. They also like to feel deeper love and build connection with their chosen partner. In addition, arranged marriages are often seen as a form of coercion that can damage individual happiness and freedom.
I am truly agree, if choice the partner especially for future and that are main point for us. For hence, we already to know weakness and strength to each other, so that we can good relationship and comfortable. In beside that, before having a serious relationship, we have bring our partners to home and recognize with our partners, so that the parents can judge candidate for their son and wish do net get wrong person.
The biggest disadvantages if they parents be induced they children with their own choice, without realizing the relationship did not last long time. Unfortunately, one person happiness cannot be measured by the happiness of others. Other bad impact is if you are not happy, will a lot of issues that happens in the household, such as infidelity, violence, endless arguments, separation and divorce.
In my opinion, I am generally do not support with the statement that older member do. On the other hands, that is all depends situation in several in members family, but my according as parents must understand with their own choice and that is one of way to make happiness within marriage.
