Nowadays, crimes are becoming more frequent and more committed by teenagers. Some individuals believe that everyone should receive punishment regardless of their age, especially teenagers.I agree with this statement because for teenagers it will serve as a lifelong lesson, so that they no longer make mistakes and think with their heads.
To begin with, some people think that teenagers are too young to serve a prison sentence, but every person should monitor your own actions to avoid punishment. However judges can commute sentences if a teenager has psychological injuries or hostile illnesses. For example crime of passion . People who carry out of passion often regret their actions later , when they realised on what they have done. Also the they often act without thinking and are easily influenced by friends.
Secondly, giving teenagers fair punishment can also protect society. When young offenders understand that their actions have real consequences, they are less likely to repeat the same behaviour in the future. At the same time, strict punishment does not always mean sending them to prison. Teenagers can receive other forms of responsibility, such as community service or special educational programmes. These measures can help them learn discipline and understand how their actions affect other people.
In conclusion, although some people believe that teenagers should not be punished like adults, I think that responsibility is important for everyone. Fair punishment can teach young people valuable lessons and prevent future crimes. As long as the justice system considers personal circumstances, holding teenagers accountable is beneficial both for them and for society.
