In spite of the advances made in agriculture, many people around the world still go hungry. There are variety of reasons for that.
Generally, people who are starving lives in the underdeveloped countries. Those countries considered as underdeveloped because they do not have stable currencies like developed countries. While their currency have volatilities, they cannot make expenditures in agriculture. Therefore, their farmers do not have the proper technology for farming and they could not buy it. For example, Africa are considered as non-developed country. Even though Africa has the highest proportion of young adults, who have the ability to work as farmers, it still cannot increase its supplies because of lack of vehicles.
Moreover, even though they would have advances, some still could not have lots of supplies, because they do not have enough infrastructure, and sources adequate for the population. For instance, 80.000 people lives in Congo. On the other hand, Congo do not have much of water sources. Even if they can find water, it usually contain toxic, and dirty materials. When they use this water, their supplies die. That is why they cannot use those sources for agriculture. They can only use clean water, which is too less that it would be only adequate for people to just drink it for survival.
In conclusion, even though there are developments in agriculture, a lot of people around the world starve because they are underdeveloped countries, and they do not have enough money to buy technical vehicles for their farms. Also, their areas are not containing proper sources to farm effectively.
