It is believed that the primary population in many parts of the world will be consisted of adult people, rather than youngsters. This essay will suggest that this tendency will lead to both positive and negative development. Although it can foster the conservation of traditional and cultural heritage, the growth of a population can experience a stagnancy.
In most cases, cultural values are being saved by elderly people, who tend to conserve and spread to the newer generations. The main purpose of this action is adhered to the preservation of cultural identity and being an independent country with its own values in this era of globalization. When there are a lot of aged people, it will be easier to save most of the heritage, without exposing to diversification. For instance, a half of Kazakhstan’s population consists of old man, which can be seen in preservation of most of the traditions like “asar”, “betashar” and so on.
There is a high risk for the growth of a population of any nation. Most elderly people prefer relaxing and getting a joy in their age, and having a baby is not a way for this. When there are a lot of aged humans, the population may not grow. For example, Japan has the greatest number of elderly in its population. Consequently, there is a significant decrease in population number. In 2021, its amount dropped for nearly 600,000, which explains the trend.
In conclusion, having a big proportion of older people is like a double-edged sword, since it can positively affect on cultural identity, but also negatively impact on population size.
