Band 5+: In the future, nobody will buy printed newspaper or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. Write at least 250 words.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Every person will read e-books or online newspapers because they will be free of charge more than the printed materials in future. Hence, I quite agree with this statement as I also prefer to read online materials over printed once.

I believe that people will access more online reading materials with the development of technology. The features of e-reading materials will be further developed with the updating technology to facilitate the readers. Thus, people will use online books and newspapers as they do not need to spend money on it.

Furthermore, it is easy to carry a smart device rather than a heavy book or a newspaper. Accordingly, the book or newspaper will be able to red while travelling as well as listen to them at anywhere in anytime such as during driving, jogging, walking and even cooking. Also, online reading materials do not have threats from fires, floods or other disasters. Therefore, I believe that we do not need to protect these materials intentionally.

In addition to that, majority of people share these materials in social media. Thereby, the expensive books will be able to download and read. I honestly have experience in finding expensive books from internet sources due to the lack of money. Thus, I was able to download the softcopies and read the books. Also, these free materials do not need more space to store in my room but small space in my computer memory.

Finally, I agree with the statement that everyone will read online books or newspapers due to the fact that they will not need to spend money on them including other consequences such as easy access, portability, protection and requirement of small storage.
