With the rise in digitalization, there has been an ongoing rumor around that in the future nobody will purchase printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything, they want online without paying. This statement has created a worldwide discussion about if there’s a possibility of it or not.
Digitization means the world many useful things to make life easier, but in this we have forgotten traditional methods that at one point were irreplaceable, like printed newspapers and books. In my opinion, reading books online can never be replaced with the joy of purchasing a new book and smelling the scent coming out of it and challenging yourself to finish a thick book or just reading a newspaper in the calming environment of your home.
While it is also understandable why people might not be as interested in reading books or newspapers in current times. People nowadays don’t have enough time to enjoy reading in a stationary environment, so they like to carry their books wherever they go, Some people might find it a hard task to carry thick books and newspapers, so they would rather read on their device which they would carry with them throughout the day and can read anywhere.
On the other hand, some people would always prefer to purchase and read printed books and newspapers, like elderly people or people or people who are generally enthusiastic about not only reading books but also collecting them. So, I don’t think the trend of purchasing books will ever really die soon.
In conclusion, I disagree that in the future nobody will purchase newspapers and books because there will always be people who willingly read and purchase them.
