Previously, most people lived in small villages where everyone knew each other. However, most people live in large cities where they only know a few neighbors who live in their area. There are advantages and disadvantages to living in a small society.
I believe there are two main benefits. For the first reason, residents are able to help each other in times of trouble. For example, when a family is not able to look after their children because of an emergency, they can ask a favor of their neighbor to take care of their children. For some children, as they have to take care of aging people, when they are busy working, there are convenience to ask for help to watch over their grandparents or parents while they are not able to be home in time. The next advantage is opportunities, which include getting to know each other. Such opportunities involve sharing information related to jobs, which is legal and suitable for different ages. In addition, all parents can teach and guide all the children from villages as if their own children when needed.
I think many of the disadvantages were the inconvenience of lifestyle. The villages were not as developed as urban areas. Therefore, transportation was an obstacle for trading and work. As a result, the local people did not earn as much income as large city residents. The other drawback was technology. It was difficult to get a call and electricity in remote areas. As a consequence, it would take a long time to communicate with different regions, and children were not able to study as much as they expected due to the lack of electric power.
In my opinion, the disadvantages of a small community were greater than the advantages. They may know each other; however, their lifestyle will be left behind when compared to a large city. And they will have to struggle hard to take care of their children and family.
