Back then, most people usually stayed put and lived in one place throughout their lives. However, nowadays people constantly move and live in several places in the span of a few years. The choice between settling and moving constantly shapes people into new perspectives but what are the advantages and drawbacks for this?
Staying put and living in one place for years on end has its benefits. A person can develop deeper connections with the surrounding environment – making a strong bond and a sense of familiarity. Memorizing small details that were never seen before and recognising people throughout the neighborhood. Nonetheless, living in one place has its disadvantages. Not being able to experience other cultures is one of many disadvantages.
Moving places constantly also has its perks and flaws. On one hand, people who move frequently will get the upper hand in travelling and experiencing new places. People who constantly move will have to have the freedom of working from anywhere or freelancing, giving them more time to explore and enjoy different journeys. On the other hand, the expenses of people who travel frequently will obviously be more than those who stay put. Money is required for the method of transport, bills and repairs will add up over time.
To sum up, staying put in one place can have benefits but the downside is that they don’t experience as much as people who move a lot since they travel less often. The disadvantage for people who move frequently is the cost for travelling which tends to be much larger than people who stay put. In my opinion, I would rather become a person who moves places often. Since people who travel more will have more freedom, experience more journeys, and meet more people.
