In recent years, students have more opportunities to study abroad. However, in the past, when students applied to the University, they choosed to study in their own country. This essay will examine both the advantages and disadvantages of this development.
One major advantage of study abroad is, that living abroad can broaden students’ horizons. This is mainly because they can improve their knowledge, such as:language, cultures and educational systems, which leads to develop communication skills, indepence, and a better understanding of the world. As a result, individuals can learn a new language, meet people from different backgrounds, which helps them become more well-rounded. From my own experience, my Turkish teacher finished university in the Turkey. She improved her Turkish language skills with talking people from Turkey. Moreover, now she gives a lot of advice for us, which we have not learn in our country.
However, a significant disadvantage of studying abroad, is that living and studying can be difficult. This happens because language barrier can be a problem, resulting in understanding can be hard at University. Consequently, students may have a problems with accomodation and with paying bills. For instance, students spent a lot of time studying, and they do not have any time for working, that is why it can be hard to pay their places where they will live.
In conclusion, although study in another country offers advantages such as more opportunity, it also has disadvantages, including paying for their homes, and something else. Therefore, both aspects should be carefully considered when evaluating this development.
