These days, there is a booming growth of private sectors in carrying out and managing experimental research, which overwhelms the governmental responsibilities. From my perspective, although this trend has multiple downsides, the benefits may be far more significant for several reasons.
Critics of this phenomenon often cite the potential of criminal behavior. For example, private entrepreneurs may invent certain chemical substances utilized in negative implications such as producing weapons, posing a threat to the society. Moreover, the fact that businesses’ main purposes are to make profit is undeniable, which prioritizing the dominant benefits of a group of certain individuals rather than overall societal development. However, this assumption overlooks the practical contribution of these organizations, meaning that companies have to fulfill social needs in order to generate revenue.
Conversely, I assert that there are more compelling reasons why the business practices should be encouraged. Firstly, it is apparent that a great deal of items produced by private sectors have substantial impacts on humankind development.
Take, Iphone, a by-product from Apple’ laboratory, for example, has revolutionized the way we communicate. Furthermore, the rise in business competition to capture larger market share may stimulate creative approaches, which is essential for driving innovations. Last but not least, the significant capital for operational practices, such as hiring professional scientists or purchasing cutting-edge technologies, might lead to more accurate results, due to the fear of bankruptcy.
In conclusion, while acknowledging reasonable public concerns on the proliferation of scientific research conducted by private sectors, I believe these minor disadvantages pale in comparison to the beneficial effects brought about.
