In many parts of the world, young people are remarkably impacted by numerous celebrities since they regard them as shining example. While acknowledging some arguments/opinions supporting/advocating this opinion, I firmly believe that its positive sides dominante the drawbacks.
Granted, one might point out that famous individuals can serve as the motivation for the young to develop and success. This is because of their rewards, particularly their hard work and talent, inspire young people to follow their patterns. Nevertheless, this line of reasoning fails to mention that some of the well-known people can give serious repercussions for young people. This seems reasonable since a number of celebrities who have an enormous reputation usually convey negative thoughts, actions or unrealistic expectations to young generation, lead them go in wrong way. As a result, this will lead to the fall in academic results of the young, affect their personal goals or in a higher level if a young person commit a crime as being manipulated by their idol.
It is also noteworthy that famous individuals are believed to have the ability to raise awareness of social issues among young generation. This can be predicated on the assumption that well-known people are not only famous but also inspire their fans to become good citizens. Beauty queens such as Miss Grand International 2021 Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien can be a prime example of this since by taking part in or found non-profit organizations in order to volunteer and help people in needs, they can motivate the young by images of what they do through social media and therefore more will know about these activities and join. This example is a testament to why famous individuals play a pivotal role in educating young generation and encouraging them to know more about society.
To recapitulate, while celebrities have the ability to inspire audiences in some instances, over-idolization of their influence risks undermining more substantive role models and cultivating unhealthy priorities in young people. Thus, I hold that placing famous people in the position of role models is an overall negative development.
