In today’s world, individuals consume food from various parts of the world rather than traditional dishes. This trend is mainly driven by globalization and technology, and I believe it is largely positive.
One of the main reasons for this habit is that products can be easily imported. For instance, in my homeland, Uzbekistan, individuals can find Italian pasta or Japanese sushi. Moreover, many people move abroad and bring their traditional dishes with them. As a result, different cuisines spread to other countries. In addition, tourists try the dishes of other nations and later look for similar dishes in their own country. Furthermore, in recent years, a variety of food has become popular through Instagram and YouTube. For example, Korean cuisine is well-known due to K-pop culture. People often lose interest in eating the same meals and want to taste new flavors and traditions.
On the other hand, this development has both benefits and drawbacks. Italian pizza and Japanese sushi are famous worldwide, and this brings countries closer together. People also have more choices and can select healthier options or meals that suit their preferences. In addition, international restaurants create job opportunities. However, if teenagers prefer fast food too often, interest in traditional meals may decrease. This increasing consumption of fast food may also lead to obesity.
In conclusion, the popularity of international meals is the result of globalization, and overall it is a beneficial development because it promotes cultural exchange and expands people’s choices. However, it is important to preserve traditional food.
