There has been an ongoing debate about whether it is good to pay full tuition fees for students or if parents should bear the cost. Some people believe that the government should cover the full cost of tuition fees. I partly agree with this view because it creates many opportunities for students especially if they come from families with financial difficulties.
The primary reason why I partly agree with this view is that covering the full cost of tuition fees can be beneficial to children with limited access to education. What makes them to gain valuable knowledge system in their fields is that free education and better tools . The more they spend their free time on studying , the more they have a chance to get well paid jobs. As a result , not only can they support their families with financial, but they can also contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth.
On the other hand , providing free higher education by governments can have a negative impact on its finances. The main reason is that funding universities requires a massive budget allocation, which may force the governments to reduce spending on other crucial factors such as infrastructure and healthcare. Because of this governments should spend money appropriately lest they raise the taxes and reduce spending money on those healthcare and infrastructure. In addition, if governments pay full tuition fees for students, they do not feel a responsibility. Since they do not financially contribute to their degrees, they may undervalue their education , which often results in poor academic performance. As a consequence, they do not acquire well paid jobs and valuable skills.
In conclusion, what merits of paying full tuition fees for children by governments , I believe that paying other significant factors still play a crucial role especially healthcare and infrastructure to balance study and economic growth.
