There are plenty of academic studies on every topic, starting from how inflation affects the population of a country and ending with why dogs shake their tails. Some people might wonder if the studies not related to generating wealth for a country have any value, so in this essay I will evaluate my opinion on this question.
Studying and exploring our world is the key to understanding it and supposedly, try making it better for everyone. Research is important to be on the subjects relevant in the modern times, such as global warming and renewable energy. To study means to learn the information necessary to help the world problems, and improve people’s lives. Time goes fast, and due to some of these problems requiring an urgent solution, we should traverse our efforts to these topics, and leave other, minor studies behind for a more suitable time. Countries are interested in generating wealth for their people, so everyone has a chance to live a wealthy life. Studying helps them find new ways to acquire goods and improve existing ones. These subjects are more important and have a higher priority than the other ones, so they require our immediate attention. Thus, research should focus on the academic topics that are useful in terms of generating wealth for the country.
On the other side, researching minor topics also has a value of importance for the population. By exploring different aspects of how things work, we can compile a puzzle which could help us improve our life quality. Studying should be in all directions, not just the topics that would give us wealth in the end. Moreover, having the extra information could provide us a whole new solution to a problem, like someone’s study on plants could help to invent a new type of biofuel, which would help to reduce the oil prices. Having a grasp on the full image is no less of importance than studying a limited range of subjects.
In conclusion, my opinion is that studying topics not relevant to generating wealth for a country is just as important as studying subjects relevant to it.
