Countries hosting worldwide sports events is a problem that has sparked many arguments among individuals. Some people believe that organizing worldwide events is a positive development of the nations while arguing that these activities are wasting the public budget. In this essay, I will explore both perspectives and suppose my agreement with the former.
Hosting international sports events is associated with many benefits for countries in introducing culture and fostering tourism and economic aspects. The major advantage is widespread culture. Additionally, being the host of famous sports events would attract many noticeable social software at the international level leading to people all over the world paying attention to this culture and lifestyle of the country. The additional advantage is fostering tourism and the economy. In particular, the nations that organize sports events such as the Olympics or World Cup would be valuable destinations for overseas people; these things can lead to boosting many services namely hotels and transport in the internal country. For example, the Olympics 2020 in Tokyo made Japan became the hottest destination in that year, substantially contributing to raising the income of services
On the other hand, organizing sports events has a mixed bag of responses. The primary drawback is that wasting public facilities, particularly several facilities just be used once at that event, and after that, it would be abandoned. As a result, these things not only squander the public budget but also land resources. Another disadvantage is squandered fossil fuel and time for traffic congestion. In addition, in places where these take place sports, especially in rush hours, people in these cities suffer from traffic jam leading to squandering time and fossil fuel. In 2020, Tokyo witnessed a serval transport in the road and citizens were stuck in the street.
In conclusion, widespread culture and boosting traveling in internal countries are two main advantages that should be mentioned when taking places well-known international sports events. I strongly agree with this opposite view due to these can outweigh the disadvantages proposed by the others.
