In today’s society some people believed that all young adults should be asked to undertake a period of non-salary work helping people in the community. To this requirement, i considered that it is really depends on those young adult’s financial conditions – whether they are wealthy or not?
For those richer young adults, the disadvantage of that requirement is definitely smaller than the merits since they have no stress on making their life. Taking part in those community work is a decent chance to enhance their sense of belonging, improve their awareness of teamwork and provide the group work experience which is particularly crucial in their feature work. Furthermore, in case that this kind of work is provided to citizens in community, poor people will get an opportunity to accept the service they cannot accept in regular days. This will bring a merit that the sense of happiness in this community will rise immediately in a dramatic rate. It means that crime and violence will decrease immediately. In addition, these kind of work will not only benefit for individuals and society but also in the city. Low crime rates and high sense of happiness can attract more people settle down in this city. In this case, not only will the economy be more active than before, but also finance and taxation will increase. But this requirements could be a disadvantage for the poor young adults.
There is a fact that poor young adults cannot undertake those work which do not provide salary. Because they have to make a life for themselves. Maybe for their family member – parents, siblings or even grandparents. They are under a strong press of live. This kind of requirements is very cruel for them. So i recognize that disadvantages are overweight benefits for those poor young adults.
To summarize, i believe that it is really depends on whether the young adult poor or rich.
