The act of giving parents a punishment due to the illegal activities done by their children has always been on debate. Personally, I believe that juveniles are fully responsible for their actions and parents also play a part in it.
Today it has become common for many children to commit petty crimes. This case has led to think about increasing concerns about the parents’ responsibility on this issue. First and foremost, young people who are vulnerable to controlling their actions are often born and raised in dysfunctional families or have had unstable upbringing. Certainly, this results in behavioural changes among children and they start committing juvenile crimes. Hance, parents have a huge impact on their children’s misbehaving traits and are partly accountable for their children’s offences.
On the other hand, there are a few other factors which cause young people commit an illegal act. One example can be the internet which is a source of violent contents. They are watched by children and they tend to copy evil. That is why, adult members of the family must control what their children are busy with. However, if children do wrong, they must be punished by law as well. Because, juveniles need to know that the law is serious and punishment is a good way to teach them this.
In conclusion, parents have to take some of the responsibility and they must be fined when their children break the law. By this, adults start to pay more attention to their children’s behaviour.
