Some people argue that health-related facilities should always be available for the society at no cost, while some others say it is bound to be responsibly paid by individuals. This healthcare service subsidy, I certainly believe, would bring about more significant advantages that I will outline in my essay.
To begin with, free health services might bring many benefits to the citizens, especially those living in poverty. SHOULD such facilities be freely accessed, it will not only increase the fitness level of the unprivileged but also boost productivity of the people in general. In addition, free medication treatments could also lead to the extension of individuals’ life expectancies. Perhaps, there would be a higher number of sufferers that would have lived longer, had the government freed the cost of healthcare systems. In practice, a common deadly illness namely hemodialysis which certainly consumes big budgets could be treated for free.
On the other hand, free health maintenance programs can have some drawbacks. Such fund-consuming subsidies mostly could only provide low class facilities which force people to trade comfort over treatment. This can affect the quality of the treatment in curing their illnesses. Also not to mention, by making healthcare subsidised, overcrowded hospitals will be the main consequence. Usually, people are hesitant to check their health due to financial inability, but if the program is implemented, they will swarm the hospitals without even bothering to line up.
To sum up, though this argument seems disadvantageous to some extent, I would say that the merits of the subsidy could lead to significant steps in creating equality. This mainly focuses on the unprivileged and extending longevity.
