Some people argue that for kids being raised only by parents worse, than being brought up by all the members of extended family. This essay totally disagrees with this statement as intervention of relatives can interfere with the strengthening of parent-child bonds and undermine guardian’s authority.
To begin with every parent and child have a special bond. This is to say parents are the closest individuals in children’s life and other people’s interference, despite if it’s grandmother or grandfather, can destroy this connection. For example: Mom and dad try to spend time with their child, play with them and talk about their feelings. But if grandmother constantly comforts the child when the parents discipline them, the child may start trusting her more. As a result, the connection with parents will weaken.
Another reason for my view is that intervention of other person can just destroy parental authority. That means that if many people, such us: aunt, uncle and etc, are involved in a child’s upbringing, the child may face a conflict of authority. For instance: If parents are punishing for misbehavior and granny starts consoling, saying that the punishment is unfair, a negative attitudes towards parents may develop. Therefore it undermine parental authority and discipline.
In conclusion, I believe that parents should be the main figures in raising their children, as too much involvement from relatives can disrupt the parent-child relationship and diminish parental authority.
