There is an ongoing debate about whether people should be unemployed rather than employed in a profession they do not enjoy. I firmly agree with this statement because people’s health and free time ought to be prioritized first.
To begin with, doing work that people do not enjoy may negatively affect their performance at work and mental health. For instance, most of workers usually spend at least 8 hours per day at their workplaces. This means that those who do not find their job enjoyable, spend on it most their free time. After working day, they might feel exhausted and have a poor mood, which may affect their performance next day. As a result, it could be ended by doing mistakes during the work and get fired. It is also known that when people get fired, they receive a large amount of stress. That is why it is a better option to be unemployed, but not to be tired and gained stress from the job.
Furthermore, unemployed people’s lives may be more exciting and diverse. It is highly important to enjoy life while it is possible, because in the future people may regret about spending most their time on work. For example, citizens can start doing different hobbies or explore the world and other cultures. It may be a better experience, while other people get stress from their occupation. Being unemployed also means more free time that could be spent on themselves, such as regularly checking their health or just do things that enjoy. For this reason, it is more beneficial to be unemployed as free time should be spent accurately.
To conclude, I am convinced that if people do work, they should either enjoy it or not work at all. As not enjoying work may lead to severe ramifications, meanwhile being unemployed means less stress and more entertainment.
