It is predicted that most types of transportation will be self-controlled in the future. While having only driverless vehicles can provide road safety and prevent accidents, there will also be some drawbacks.
One evident benefit to using automatic cars and buses is that they can increase safety rate on the roads. In other words, many car accidents and crushes are originated by people’s faults and failures. For example, drivers can fall asleep on the road because of lack of sleep or they are likely to lose control when they are under the pressure or some kind of emotional states. And when robots drive a car, they will not have any kind of behaviors like humans and they are unaffected by the factors that I mentioned above.
On the other hand, there are obvious downsides to having driverless transportation. Firstly, people will be deprived of enthusiasm or joy by driving a car. To be clear, if they buy some kind of expensive cars and they have no access to use it by themselves, they are apathetic to travel by this type of transportation. Another reason is that the self-driving vehicles can a cause of economical crisis in many countries. It would mean that they will take peoples’ places in driving and delivery services and make individuals unemployed and also give them some challenges in their livelihoods. This will lead to adverse effects in terms of financial management.
In conclusion, while there are plus points to having self-managed vehicles, too much would be lost as a result.
