Taking a risk plays an important role in people’s professional and personal lives. While ther are some drawbacks to taking risks, personally I believe that the advantages of it are more significant than downsides.
There can be several disadvantages to taking risks. One negative side of it is financial loss. Risky career changes can lead to umeployment or problems that are related to the money. When an employees leave their current job in secure in search of high salary and fast growing success, companies and employers may hire new workers. This is because, many big companies do not want to stop their work and it will not be beneficial for them to wait when their employees will come back. Another drawback of taking risk is issues with emotions in case of personal life. People can easily start new conversation with other people and also may quickly build a relationship, which is later can not go as planned. This emotional risk can cause regret and long-term pain.
Nevertheless, the benefits of taking risk are far greater. One of the major upside is career growth. Starting a new business or changing jobs frequently can be positive development when people start to take risk. It is true that, commencing a new business is risky, but it is better than doing nothing. It can be difficult in the beginning, however: after hard work, it starts growing and becomes successful. In terms of personal life, personal development is the advantage for people. Moving abroad or trying something new build independence and confidence for people which are considered as a crucial thing in human’s personal life.
In conclusion, although taking risks may lead to several issues, including financial loss and emotional problems, in my opinion these are outweighed by various benefits, such as career growth and personal development.
