History is a vital knowledge for everyone. Without knowing it, people cannot learn from their mistakes. Furthermore, history of one’s local town is more important for the people who live there because it gives a chance to understand their culture and connect with their ancestors.
Depending on the locations, the culture and traditions vary and as well as the history. For instance, Mongolians have been nomads for thousands and thousands of years. It will not be same in Korea if someone goes back to the history. Therefore, their traditions are different. When Mongolia still has a lot of herders, Korea does not have. Moreover, if school does not teach their local histories, one cannot know their past lives from the world history. The reason is that in the world history, there are not many details about certain places but major huge phenomes.
Other reason for the statement is that with the help of history, locals could know their ancestors’ past lives. once they get the idea of it, it will help them to understand the values of their ancestors and they can learn from them. This lesson cannot be done without local history class at the school. However, there can be some obstacles associated with it. When they care too much about the local history not the world’s, then in general people will turn out to be concerned on their own areas. Nevertheless, if there is a balance this issue will not occur.
In conclusion, although too much local histories could be a problem, when there is a balance, having local history lessons are far more important for the citizens based on it gives them idea about their cultures and ancestors
