Nowadays, in many countries, students are not choosing science-related subjects. To my mind, most students understand science subjects to be too difficult to learn and work on.
In today’s world, in many countries, students do not want to choose science subjects (chemistry, maths, biology, and physics). The reason is that, in some countries around the world, teachers do not know how to make these subjects easier for students to understand. When students learn about science subjects, they should be told that “these subjects can be my career in the future”, but unfortunately, too many science teachers do not do this. As a consequence, students think science subjects are very difficult to study. Actually, all work is difficult; you only understand this when you work on it. One of the biggest mistakes people make when thinking about studying science is that many people say that science subjects require a lot of time for studying. Actually, all work requires a lot of time, not only science, but we also know this during studying or working on it.
If we think about salary, scientists earn plenty of money compared to people in other jobs. So, many people think about being financially satisfied. About two years ago, I saw on the news that one of the highest salaries in the world was earned by a scientist, who took fourth place in the ranking.
In the modern world, because of this misunderstanding, many students choose other subjects. As a result, there will be a shortage of scientists and researchers. Actually, this is a misunderstanding because there are no easy jobs or areas of study in the world. As a result, there will be a shortage of scientists, and we might need to bring in another scientific professor to preserve the scientific workforce. Thus, scientific innovation becomes slower, which can negatively affect economic development.
