Band 6+: It is often said that nowadays children are undisciplined because their parents are busy with their career. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? What could parents do to build a sense of discipline among children?

It is believed that current children are ill-mannered due to their parents, who are engaged in their work. In my view, it is true, and parents should definitely pay more attention to their children in order to avoid indiscipline in the future. I think that they should spend more time with them or hire a childminder.

Spending time with offspring is necessary for their general development since parents are first teachers of every person. Thanks to them, little girls and boys are taught to basic skills, such as speaking, understanding the environment, and rudimentary logical thinking. Furthermore, children recognise what is good and what is bad and develop a simple concept of the world. When parents provide them with love, care, and time, little offspring grow up well-behaved and well-mannered. However, when they lack all the factors listed above, they grow up carefree, thinking they are allowed to do anything. Consequently, children become undisplined and cause a lot of inconvenience to society. This is why parents, despite their busyness at work, have to spend evening with their girls and boys by doing physical activities and playing logical games or other things they consider important and entertaining.

However, there are some situations when parents are not capable of being involved in child raising. In my opinion, the best solution would be hiring a childminder. This person would replace children’s parents and even teach them some other skills, such as reading and writing. For instance, childminders can teach children some things that parents would not do, for example, protecting yourself and others, caring for animals and nature, which are also important parts of people’s lives.

In conclusion, parental involvement is crucial for raising well-mannered children. While busy schedules can be challenging, prioritizing time with children or employing a capable childminder can ensure their proper development, preventing future indiscipline and contributing to a better society.
