The possible assumption of someone’s culture and features from the fact of how he chooses clothes is an issue of debate. I strongly agree with this statement as dressing is the primary sign of culture, and it carries social values with it.
On the one hand, the dress of a person necessarily reflects the aspects of his culture in which he has been brought up. In other words, when we are uncertain of the culture in which a person belongs, the characteristics that are available on his dress up will give us a clear and concrete picture as regards the features of his cultural values. For instance, a person having the attire of western features will definitely give us the sense that he might have been a part of western culture except in some exceptional cases. That’s why it is obvious that the clothing norm of a person has the implied image of the cultural belonging of that person.
On the other hand, the clothes that one wears bear societal aspects, social morality to be specific, from which we can easily take an idea of the precision his society features. To clarify, one person, possessing a specific pattern of attire, has the potential to refer to which social and moral values that person has grown up with throughout his life. For example, when one woman is wearing a saree, covering her whole body with a veil over her head, it indicates that she possessed the typical Bengali culture with a shy character, and she has no compromising attitude as regards her culture. As a result, the manner in which a person features clothes on his body, will definitely provide a precise idea about the cultural heritage which that particular person has with him.
In conclusion, it is predicted that exploring the culture and character of a person can be made by observing his preferences for dressing, as it has the initial features of culture, and it implicitly bears features of society.
