Band 7+: It is sometimes said that people should encouraged to get married before they are 30, as this is the best both for the individual and for society. Do you agree or disagree?

The validity of the arguments for promoting early marriages is an urgent issue. The underestimation of encouragement to get married up to 30 is a worrying trend. I believe that making people create social units is ineffective, causing a decrease in the quality of marriage and an inadequate perception of not wishing to build a family. However, some suppose the facilitation of getting married early is a justified decision, being an appropriate solution to the demographic problem and simplifying giving birth and raising children.

On the one hand, the state’s promoting marriage under the age of 30 serves as a proactive strategy to tackle depopulation. Besides, there is a widely held belief that childbearing is physically more manageable for younger individuals. Despite persistent concern regarding population decline, driven by the imperative to sustain economic growth and offset retiring employees with a more dynamic workforce, endeavors to mitigate this issue have consistently impacted society, contributing to societal resilience. For instance, Russia has effectively encouraged constructing a family before the age of 35 through initiatives like “Young Family”, addressing population cutback. Additionally, owing to their optimal physical condition, young mothers confront fewer medical complications. However emotionally unstable youths generally may have been, their adaption to the demands of parenthood remains promising. For example, Natalia Vodyanova, a Russian supermodel, exemplifies this, successfully balancing early motherhood alongside her prosperous career.

On the other hand, some, including myself, oppose the mounting pressures to enter a union of marriage. Primarily, such recommendations may lead young couples to overlook the importance of adjusting to each other or even choose not to share a household, prioritizing other types of relationships. Influenced by imposed standards, couples might disregard potential future risks. Despite governmental incentives, these risks often prevail. Per my observation, while Britney Spears and her first partner may have hastily decided to marry after few months of dating, they did not anticipate their divorce to be destructive for both. Likewise, the possibility of developing an inadequate perception of marriage should not be underestimated. Without the government’s plethora of measures to bolster young partnerships, many couples would not feel pressured into conforming to societal norms. From a broader perspective, the phenomenon of childfree, prevalent in the USA and gathering pace in Russia through social network pages, serves as a relevant example.

Overall, it is imperative to emphasize fostering social union have both positive and negative effects. Omitting mental issues, some advocate for young partnership. However, insisting on certain actions can transform into a skewed view of marriage.
