Band 7+: It is the responsibility of schools to teach children good behavior in addition to providing formal education. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In today’s world, self-awareness of one’s behaviors and personalities is often overshadowed by the pursuit of social recognition due to a lack of personal responsibility. This issue arises from deficiencies in the educational system, which significantly shapes children’s minds and attitudes. Recently, there has been a growing emphasis on teaching civics and behavior management in schools. However, some believe that schools should focus on traditional classes and prioritize academic achievements. This essay will discuss both viewpoints and present my opinion on the matter.

Firstly, instilling good behavior in students should be a top priority for any school, as it lays the foundation for developing responsible individuals. Understanding discipline and engaging in respectful communication in academic and social settings help students build deeper connections and foster friendliness. Teaching behavior management is crucial for students’ future success as they integrate into society.

Promoting good behavior in students has several benefits, including improving their ability to interpret conversations and respond appropriately while minimizing negative conduct. In a diverse world, it is vital for schools to teach societal norms, helping students distinguish between culturally appropriate and inappropriate behaviors. Students educated with sensitivity towards personal and social aspects are likely to perform better in life by reducing misunderstandings and conflicts and promoting acceptance and respect for different cultures.

In conclusion, societal interactions are often undermined, leading to conflicts. Therefore, it is essential to teach students, especially the younger generation, how to manage their behavior effectively. I strongly recommend that schools incorporate lessons on social interactions to educate students about societal rules and the importance of good behavior management for achieving success.
