Band 5+: Large businesses have big budgets for marketing and promotion and as a result, people gravitate towards buying their products. What problems does this cause? What could be done to encourage people to buy local products?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

To date, large businesses are very widespread both in vast cities and small towns. The main problem of such as contrast between big and small companies is that local products are becoming less interesting for customers. Why is this a problem? There are several reasons for this. Many people are losing their jobs and their standard of living is declining. Many small businesses are dying because they just can not compete with large companies which have many times greater budget and marketing skills. It leads local companies to the failure. Furthermore, large companies, when local business are losing in any competitions, become monopolistic. It can leads to higher prices and worse quality. Also big production can lead big problems with environment. Marketing of vast businesses product works successfully, so people want to buy more and more . However, this leads to an increase in waste. Certainly, local production sometimes has harmful impact on ecology, but they have much less demanding and vast waste to the nature because of their size. Also local product often has more unpaid production then big organizations, which require a certain amount of time to manufacture an item or a product.

The government can help to improve small businesses. For example, organize sponsorships for the best businesses. I convinced, that it can motivate local companies work harder and makes them more efficient in performing daily tasks. Furthermore, it leads to improvement of product by themselfs. Also government can help small businesses to

improve their marketing strategy and skills to increase sales volume.
