Task Response

The essay addresses the main parts of the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages of large shopping malls replacing small shops. A position is presented, but the development of ideas is limited and not always clear. The arguments lack depth and specific examples, and there is some repetition. To improve, focus on providing more detailed and well-supported points for each advantage and disadvantage, and ensure each paragraph has a clear central idea. Additionally, work on organizing the essay more logically and using precise language to express your thoughts.

Coherence & Cohesion

The essay attempts to present advantages and disadvantages, but the overall structure is unclear and the message is difficult to follow. The introduction does not clearly state the topic or outline the essay's direction. The body paragraphs mix advantages and disadvantages without clear separation, and the conclusion is weak. Cohesive devices are used in a limited and sometimes incorrect way (e.g., 'To being with', 'Furthermore', 'In conclusion'). Paragraphing is not effectively managed, with ideas jumping between points. To improve, create a clear introduction that paraphrases the topic and states that you will discuss both advantages and disadvantages. Use separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, each with a clear topic sentence. Use a range of cohesive devices accurately (e.g., 'Firstly', 'On the one hand', 'In contrast', 'As a result'). Ensure the conclusion summarises the main points without introducing new ideas.

Lexical Resource

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with several errors in word choice and spelling (e.g., 'batter' instead of 'better', 'oppsite' instead of 'opposite', 'precentage' instead of 'percentage', 'founding' instead of 'finding', 'depens' instead of 'depends', 'instrance' instead of 'instance', 'prodact' instead of 'product', 'wast' instead of 'waste', 'smalls' instead of 'small'). There is limited use of less common or sophisticated vocabulary. To improve, expand your vocabulary by learning synonyms for common words (e.g., 'advantage' -> 'benefit', 'disadvantage' -> 'drawback', 'big' -> 'large', 'spacious', 'crowded' -> 'congested', 'popular' -> 'widespread'). Use collocations naturally (e.g., 'play a significant role', 'meet the needs', 'a wide range of products'). Proofread carefully to eliminate spelling errors. Boost vocabulary complexity to elevate the overall score.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy

The essay contains numerous grammatical errors that significantly hinder understanding. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people needs'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'To being with'), incorrect use of articles (e.g., 'a lot of advantages that the big malls have'), incorrect comparative forms (e.g., 'batter than', 'more crowded than'), and sentence fragments (e.g., 'While others think the oppsite .Both of them have some positive and negative developments.'). Punctuation is often missing or incorrectly used (e.g., spaces before periods). To improve, review basic grammar rules, especially subject-verb agreement, verb tenses, and article usage. Practice writing complex sentences with correct punctuation. Use a variety of sentence structures, such as conditional sentences (e.g., 'If you choose...'), relative clauses (e.g., '...which are...'), and passive voice where appropriate. Proofread your work to correct errors before submission.
