Nowadays, some people think that male and female students have to be separated at the university because learning becomes more effective in this situation. However, others disagree and believe that separated studying cannot influence results and I think the same.
On the one hand, there is less temptation at the universities that separate students by their gender and it can improve their results. Undergraduates probably will spend less time on thinking about some groupmates, so they will have an opportunity to focus on their subjects and improve their knowledge. Moreover, some students, especially women, will feel more comfortable surrounded by people of their sex, they will not have to spend their energy on fear or just nervousity and because of this condition they will have more concentration and better assessments.
On the other hand, many students can find soulmates at the university. There are many stories from an older generation that they have met their husband or wife while studying. If sexes are separated, there will be less opportunities to find a partner, and it can cause less marriages and a demographic crisis. What is more, students usually learn how to communicate during university. Undergraduates have to know how they can talk with different people and it can be a problem if they are separated from the other sex. Also, they can create some relations during their learning, and it can help with their future career because students can find their future colleagues or even employers.
In conclusion, it is a controversial topic about separating male and female students. There is an opinion that it is a great opportunity to pay more attention to study, but also there are some points that can argue. I firmly believe that it is not necessary to study only surrounded with people from one sex because really ambitious undergraduates will spend as much time on studying as they can and it is not connected with temptation or fear.
