Band 5+: Many believe that the best way to ensure a happier society is to reduce the difference in income earnings between the rich and poor. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Some individuals claim that the best way to make the society happier is to provide equal earnings between all types of people. I firmly believe that it is not the best way and there are more solutions to this problem.

There will always be a difference between people in society and if it comes to making the society happier people would come up with more proper ways. Making the salaries of people working in different fields almost equal will not fix that. Most people try hard in their jobs to get the salary they deserve while some do not work as much as they. Thus, I think that reducing the difference between their incomes will be unfair and will cause more problems between people, and society in general.

Thus, I believe that there are many other ways to make the society happier. For example, there are some restaurants where only fancy people are allowed to come, and by the way someone looks they judge whether to let them in or not. This makes people with lower income feel that they do not deserve such treatment, and that they are not good enough. As a result, huge gap is appearing between rich and poor, and as some are not consenting with separation of people according to standards, arguments happen to be and exist in the society. So to make it happier, people should treat each other in the same way and do not change their attitude towards someone because of their income or status. In the end, all of us are people and we all should co-exist in this world in a friendly environment.

In conclusion, I believe that people can fix this problem that happens in society if they make an effort. It is not just about incomes or status of people, because we can ensure a happier society if we treat each other in an equal way.

In some parts of the world, people buy far too many clothes. What are the reasons for this? How can people be persuaded to reduce the number of clothes they buy?

Although some people around the world purchase an excessive amount of clothes, this is primarily because pervasive media hype and cheap manufacturing attract consumers. From my perspective, a highly practical approach to tackle this issue is through sustainable consumption campaigns. The primary drivers of this overconsumption are aggressive brand advertising and the affordability of fast […]
