Many children have been spending the majority of their valuable time on smart phones each day. The primary factor that contributes to this trend is the addiction to social media platforms and advanced graphics games. In my opinion, this is a negative development because it can impact academic performance, and students may face difficulties to pay attention to one particular task.
The prominent reason for spending the most time on smart phones is constant use of social media platforms, such as Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. These platforms have an advanced algorithm that recommends similar types of content that the user is interested in. Constant exposure to the same kind of reels or posts can result in the development of habits, and many students get used to spending time on such platforms. Beside this, advancement in the technology has improved the graphics, encouraging users to play repeatedly, and many of them become regular users of these games.
I believe that it is a negative development, which can be explained by a number of reasons. First and foremost, many students spend excessive time exploring unnecessary contents and applications. As a result, they might not allocate sufficient time to revising the concepts that are taught at school or tuition, thereby affecting their academic performances. Apart from this, constant use of smart phones affects concentration. If students frequently use smart phones, it might be possible that they interrupt their task for checking any updates or notifications, and they cannot pay attention to the task they are doing.
In conclusion, many students waste their precious time on smart phones because they are addicted to social media platforms or advanced games. In my opinion, this could have a negative impact on study, and students might face difficulties paying concentration.
