Several companies raise funds in sport realm to promote their reputation among public. This is a controversial debate whether it is advantageous or disadvantageous. This essay aims to explain and analayze this phenomenon, and I believe the advantages outweigh the disadvantages in general.
On the one hand, sport sponsorship brings about benefits for both sponsors and athletes. These companies will gain great opportunities to advertise their products universally because sport programs have a huge number of audience watching. Their brand might become a household name in the society when adding their logos in jerseys, for instance. Moreover, financial support from these funders also facilitate the sport players have adequate facilities and sufficient engaging competitions for them to thrive. This thereby contributes to the growth of many gifted competitors, especially the youngsters to engage in the well-developed sport arena.
However, the drawbacks cannot be neglected due to some adverse affect related to business ethics. Many firms may take advantage of these global attention to advertise unhealthy and low-quality products. As a consequence, the community may be risk at purchasing poor-quality items, and the companies gain profits through degrading the public’ health and generating bad experiences for consumers. This issue can negatively influence the essence of sports because these organizations may inadvertendly serve the biased economic purpose of many entrepreneurs with bad intents.
In conclusion, I contend that monetary support will bring about benefits due to the prevalance of companies’ consumables and prospect participates. Nevertheless, there appear some drawbacks in case of advertisements with low-grade products.
