Nowadays, many people believe that traditional customs and ways of behaviour are no longer useful in modern life and should not be kept. However, I disagree with this opinion because traditions help people understand their culture and keep families and communities close to each other.
Firstly, traditional customs are an important part of a country’s culture and history. They help people learn about their past and understand how their ancestors lived. For example, in Kazakhstan, people celebrate Nauryz every year. During this celebration, families prepare traditional food, visit each other and spend time together. This tradition helps young people learn about their culture and respect their history. If people stop following all traditional customs, some important parts of their culture may disappear over time.
Secondly, traditions can bring people together. In modern life, many people are busy with their jobs, studies and personal responsibilities. As a result, they sometimes have less time to spend with their families. Traditional celebrations give people a reason to meet, communicate and support each other. For example, some families have a tradition of eating dinner together or celebrating important events with relatives. These activities can make family relationships stronger.
On the other hand, I understand that not every tradition is suitable for modern society. Some old customs may be unfair or may limit people’s freedom. For instance, traditions that prevent women from receiving an education or choosing their own careers should not be continued. I believe that society should change these customs instead of following them just because they are old.
In conclusion, I disagree that traditional customs are no longer relevant and are not worth keeping. Although some traditions need to change, many of them are still important because they protect cultural identity and bring people closer together. Therefore, people should keep useful traditions while leaving behind those that have a negative influence on society.
